2019 15th Annual Cougar Kickoff Tournament

Come to Vernon Hills to play in one of the best baseball facilities in the Midwest.   Each team will play 2 pool play games and then we will seed the tournament based on pool play records and begin elimination play.  We are limiting the number of teams at age group to 8 total teams including teams from the Vernon Hiils travel program.  That means we only have room for 7 teams to register for our tournament.  Interested teams must register via our website located at www.vhcbs.com.  Tournament registrations can be found on by clicking on the Register Online link on the left-hand side of our home page.  In order for registrations to be considered complete payment must be turned in within 14 days of registering on our website.  Registrations and payment will be processed based on the order in which online registrations are completed.  If we receive more interest than the 7 spots available at a particular age group we will start a wait list.   If you have any questions about the tournament format or with registrations please email us at travel_baseball@vhcbs.com.  Note: This tournament is open to community based first tier travel programs.  No Elite travel programs, recruited teams, or all-area teams accepted.

 

Dates: April 25th - April 28th

Ages: 9U – 14U  Community based “feeder type” teams

Fee: $475 per team

Tournament Logistics - 

  • Guaranteed 3 games
    • ​2 Pool Play games
    • Minimum 1 Elimination Game
  • Individual Trophies for 1st and 2nd place teams
  • The fields have dugouts, (most) grass infields, scoreboards and lights. 
  • Certified umpires officiate each game. 
  • “running water” (clean) bathrooms, and full concessions. 
  • Tournament game schedule posted no later than 5 days before Start.
  • Please bring copies of birth certificates for your roster.  They will be reviewed at team check-in.  Upon request, teams must prove they are a community program or they will not be allowed to advance to the playoffs.  
  • Coaches must check in 45 minutes prior to first game.
  • No charge for admission. Spectators will not be allowed to sit directly behind backstops.
  • All games will be played at the Vernon Hills Athletic Complex.
  • A coin toss will be used to determine the home and visiting team.  The home team must provide a scoreboard operator.
  • Tournament Central will be located at the concession stand. 
  • Updated tournament results will be displayed online
  • Trophy Presentation will take place after the championship game at VHAC.
  • There will be daily concessions available:  Concessions will include hotdogs, hamburgers/cheeseburgers drinks and snacks and much more.  No outside food and coolers are allowed in the complex.

    • ​0 Games played $450 refund
    • 1 game played   $300 refund
    • 2 games  or more played  no refund
    • Note: If any team withdraws after registration has been confirmed and payment has been made no refunds will be given.
